Carlo Sdoya - Lovely Wooded River Scene, 60x50cm

South African 1914-1996 (Record auction price R15 250 in 2012)

Born in Rome Italy, where he was schooled in fine art, Carlo Sdoya later moved to South Africa and made his home in Johannesburg, running an art studio - the Da Vinci School of fine art. Studying further with the likes of Durant Sihlali and tutoring several other prominent artists. 

Amazing work in a magnificent old frame. Wonderful pallet knife work, lovely colours and rich texture - Sdoya at his finest.
